When The Act Of Talking Aloud By Yourself Is Misunderstood: Resolving Unwanted Mental Clutter

Introduction

The act of talking aloud with nobody in front of you can be thought of in many different ways. However, there are a couple of ways that have people believing that general talking to yourself isn’t a healthy trait and perhaps that person’s mental health is starting to decline.

While there are odd instances where it could be a sign of an unhealthy decline, I am going to point out that there is a way that talking aloud with no one in front of them can be a sign of mental resolve.

Talking Aloud Can Be Healthy

There are already a few ways that talking aloud to yourself is accepted; like practicing a speech, practicing what you want to say to someone, and figuring out the solution to a problem in front of you. All of which are easier to practice and understand when it can be heard out loud.

However, there is another reason talking aloud to yourself is healthy, but instead tends to be looked at with concern at times. It is when someone is talking in circles, speaking  to nothing in frustrated tones, muttering, maybe at times even yelling at nothing. These can actually be signs of working through mental clutter that isn’t healthy for the person to hold in their mind, so they are unconsciously talking it out loud which is an effective way to let it all go.

When you are talking it out loud it is being heard a bit better by you, and therefore are releasing the energy of those thoughts with the act of talking audibly. This is healthier than holding it all in your mind with no release, which can be very common.

Overhearing Other People’s Mental Clutter

The part that comes with talking out loud in this way is the chance of others around hearing you, and the fear that they will think you are unwell and need help.

It can be very hard to hear others releasing mental clutter because it is everything that isn’t healthy pouring out of their mouth from their mind. So it may not sound very good at times. Except, that is the energy that is being released, and needs to come out in order for them to have a healthier mind.

The fact that they are purging old and unwanted mental energy is the help they are needing, and doesn't always need more help than that; even if it happens frequently.

There are cases where talking to a professional is helpful to resolve things; but there are also cases where simply releasing your own mental clutter in your own space and time with no one around is as well very helpful and all that is needed.

Conclusion

Talking aloud can be something that shows us a way in which we can all help heal our minds, and to see this as a tool for release in order to gain better clarity.

It is true some of us can have a lot more to let go of than others do; but the gain you receive, when someone is supporting you by believing you are doing just fine, even though you are talking aloud, is what will help you the most.
