Seeing The Ways I Need To Change: Embodying My Ideal Life

Introduction

In the majority of my blogs, I talk about different belief systems and ways to help you change your mind. When you are changing your belief systems to something more positive, you are accomplishing Step 1 of changing your life. In this blog post, I want to talk a little more about Step 2: Embodiment. Reprogramming your mind is exactly how you start the process, but you likely won’t see the results you are looking for until you embody your new belief systems as well.

What Is Embodiment?

Embodiment is when you take your new belief systems and bring them down into the body so you can not only understand how you need to think, but also automatically act and respond in that new way without even thinking about it.

Getting to a place of embodiment is not something you can force or control. This only happens when you are ready to be that new side of you. I have briefly mentioned how you can help yourself embody positive energy many times in my other blog posts, but let’s go slightly deeper into this understanding.

Your thoughts create energy, and that energy not only sits in the mind but also accumulates in the body. If the thoughts you are currently changing have been negative, then they have created an energy in the body that doesn't feel very good. That energy I am referring to is the emotions you feel whenever you have a negative thought—your negative emotional response. Negative thoughts and emotions are symptoms of past negative experiences that have caused mental and emotional trauma. This negative energy can commonly get trapped in the body, and therefore old and current traumatic thoughts is something that always needs to be looked at and resolved in order to make the positive changes you want to see in your life.

To support your own embodiment and heal your trauma, you must do two things:

  • Face and fully feel into the negative emotions that are still trapped in the body by crying them out.

  • Resolve your past hurts by acknowledging what they are and being willing to let them go.

Once you have supported yourself by doing these two things, you will have created the space you need for the positive energy of the new belief and healed ‘way of being’ to fill the gap—in other words, to embody it. Therefore, the previous negative energy won’t be driving your thoughts and actions anymore, and you will have wiped the slate clean to start fresh again. The more trauma and negative beliefs you release, the closer you get to fully stepping into a new and fulfilling life.

Conclusion

Resolving your trauma one at a time must be complete in order to successfully embody your new beliefs one at a time. Making space for embodiment is a very challenging step to go through and can be scary and uncomfortable. However, once you move through it and feel those new beliefs sinking deeper into yourself, you will not only see but also feel the ease of coming into a new and positive energy—and it is so incredibly worth it! To feel is to heal, and there are many support systems out there that can help you with that, so don’t ever feel like you have to do it all on your own.

Helpful Affirmation

“I am willing to feel the emotions I need to feel in order to let go of the trauma I don’t need.”

Try This Today

Make an intention that you are willing to look at the tough emotions you are holding in your body and recognize that they are there to help you learn and grow. Practice looking at them with love and compassion, and let your body release what it needs, in whatever way it needs.

Wishing you love, health & harmony,
